First off I would like to say that Kayla is an a.m.a.z.i.n.g photographer. She took pictures at my older sister and brother graduation party last night. It was a beautiful evening and Kayla captures some beautiful moments. I will post more from the event later, but this one has got to be my absolute favorite!

oh man I just love that little boy!

{random musings of the day}

Some random thoughts and happenings of my day.
---
As of today I have officially been on summer vacation for a week and it has been wonderful. Well except for today's weather. Today we set a record of coldest June 22nd in the history of Seattle. It only reached 55* today (the coldest high before that was 58* in 1963). The rain decided to poor today as well, so it was and inside kind of a day.
---
Today I had a lovely brunch with my two sisters. Scones with lemon curd, a side of fruit, earl grey tea, and laughter filled our morning. I love these two so incredibly much.
---
Today I was in the kitchen baking for about 3 hours. It was fun, but sometimes baking can exhaust me.
---
I had had the hiccups probably 3 times today. And they were for long periods of time too. Ya it was weird.
---
Tomorrow I am going to Portland for my cousins wedding reception. So stoke to see all of my relatives and that my whole immediate family is going to be in the same place at one time. Dad, Mom, Ross, Melissa, Ross, Ida, Josiah, Samara, Jeremiah, and me all together. That makes me happy :)
---
And now I am going to run on our elliptical trainer and watch The Ultimate Gift. I have been wanting to watch it for awhile and so I thought why not? There is nothing else to do on this cold dreary evening.

To all my friends who love chevrons, this blog I follow is doing a giveaway of a red and white chevron clutch. You can enter the giveaway {here}.

Last night my favorite little people came over and I got to capture their cuteness while they were playing outside in the grass.

{Summer Begins}

And just like that, summer begins. It is so crazy how fast these last couple of weeks of school have flown by. I took a bit of a blogging break because I knew that distractions like blogging were affecting my studying time. I put all my effort into these 3 weeks of school and it so payed off! At mid-quarter I had some low B's and my parents basically told me that I really needed to step it up these last weeks or else I would be doing a lot of reviewing in those subjects over the summer. I decided, I didn't really want to go that route and studied like crazy every night. Well last week I got all of my final tests and papers back. I am happy to say that I got an A on every single one except 1 which I got an 88% on. The Lord helped me push through those late nights and gave me new strength every day. I now can start summer break knowing that I finished strong and gave it my all. Over summer, I want to steward my time. I have been given a little less than 3 months of "free time" and I want to use it to the fullest. These are some of the things I have planned for the summer,

  • Working. I am going to Italy in less than a year- yeah baby!
  • Junior Thesis- I get to read about my topic of choice and begin my research for my paper. I am actually kind of excited for this :)
  • Spending time with my siblings. They are all in different stages of life and I really want to be able to spend quality time with them. Melissa lives way up north, well not that far, but sometimes it seems quite far. Josiah is moving in August to Spokane to go to school (insert tears). I am going to miss him. Samara is staying here for the next year! We are sharing a room and it is going to be awesome. Jeremiah who is currently in Orlando, will hopefully be going to college next year.
  • Volleyball workouts. It is tough, but good.
  • Crafting. I think that is an obvious one.
  • Getting organized. I want to go through everything in my room and get rid of my "junk."
  • Go to left coast! It all begins on July 31st :)
Well those are just a few of the things. So far today I have done a little bit of my volleyball workouts. I woke up at 6 and went on a run. It was such a beautiful morning! And now Samara and I are going to brunch at brown bag cafe. Now this is a good way to start summer break.
