highlights

I realized that quite a lot has happened since the last time I posted about school and other fun events. So here is a little recap :)

In October the secondary went to the pumpkin patch and we had quite the blast. We went through the Washington state corn maze. Exciting and tiring. But I got to venture through the mud and corn with these 2 beauties. I am blessed to call them friends.

Last week we went to the UW volleyball game. We watched the huskies beat the #4 ranked ducks. It truly was an incredible game!

I am daily reminded of how I am blessed to still have these wonderful friends still around. I value them so much!

Today Emily was sick :(
But that didn't stop us from skyping her and squishing as many of us into the screen as possible :)

We have 3 full weeks ahead of us then it is Christmas Break! 3 weeks is so doable.

Have a great rest of your week!

Legacies of Love

Family. Love. Life

Those 3 words describe much of my life this past month. On November 3rd my grandpa passed away. While it wasn't completely unexpected, I didn't think it would it come this quickly. Thankfully the weekend before he passed I was able to go down to Portland and give him one last hug and kiss. I am thankful for that goodbye.

Looking back on his life, our family agreed that his life exemplified sacrificial love. He worked so hard during his life so that it might benefit his children and grandchildren. I loved that about him.

I can't say that these past 3 weeks haven't been without their hard points. Some days have been full of tears and some full of sweet memories. I am grateful that my grandma saved many pictures and cards we gave to him over the years. The weekend he died, my grandma gave me a thank you note/ drawing I had given to him when I was probably 7 years old. It is a special memory to hold onto. It is still hard to imagine life without him. It is hard to realize that the when I go to the springs and knock on the door with the sign "the surface's" on it, he won't be there. He won't be sitting in his chair watching baseball or sitting at the computer looking at the latest forecast models.

Needless to say, grandpa, you have impacted my life very much and it is hard to imagine it without you. You will be missed more than you know. I love you.
