Today  I had to say goodbye to a friend

This is my dog Lady. Yes, we named her Lady because she looks like the Lady from "Lady and the Tramp"

she was such a fun and playful dog

she loved going on walks

she was the best

We got her when I was four, but sadly today I had to say goodbye and she was put to sleep. We buried her in our rose garden where she liked to "hang out" the most. Lady you will be missed :(

Recieving this picture from Melissa on Saturday could not have made my break any better and now I get to spend the rest of it with these awesome kiddos!

It is hard to believe that my brother is turning 20 today. Time flies so quickly. Just a couple of days ago I was 5 and he was 10 and we were playing baseball in the backyard during the summer. Now I am 15 and he is 20. Even though it has gone all too quickly I have enjoyed growing up with him. He is the closest sibling in age to me so we did a lot of things together and still do! I love the man of God he is. I love how he cares so much for me. I love that he is always watching out for me. He is a one of a kind brother and I love him. I can't say that our relationship hasn't gone without the ups and downs, but through it all he is the most amazing brother in the whole world!

I love that he was in a class with 10 other girls and he never complained about being the only guy.

Have I said he loves his nephew already? He really really really loves him!

He likes going to starbucks and playing scrabble. That would have to be one of my most favorite things to do with him :)

Jere I love you and wish you the happiest of birthdays. You really are one of the most amazing people ever! I love you to the moon and back <3

Snow Day #2= Awesome!

Today was wonderful. More snow. Another day off from school. Friends. Hot Chocolate. Sleds. Snow. You get the picture.

This is a little taste of what it is looking like in my neck of the woods.

Jeremiah and Josiah and I went on a walk with Chris and Ash to Starbucks and had a blast! After walking through the snow with it blowing in our faces, we needed to thaw out, which explains our almost 2 hours there. Needless to say it was a blast, the only thing we forgot was a deck of cards :)

We walked back to the McCuens house and broke out in a spontaneous snowball fight. I mean how can you not when there are 7 inches of snow sitting on the ground tempting you?!

Then we sledded. Awesome is all I can say.

Ash and I went too. What fun it was!

Then we decided to race :)

And after it was all done, Jere was covered in snow and was soaked!

Needless to say we had a wonderful day. I love these people so much. And the lovely Tennis too!

Plus I just found out that I don't have school tomorrow! Can you say repeat of today with maybe the movie Tangled thrown in there? Although as I am writing this the power is deciding to flicker..NO! Lord, please don't let the power go out.. I mean it is kind of cold outside! Have a good night everyone!

{snow day}

If you couldn't already tell by my previous blog posts, I have definitely been longing for some snow around here. As of Saturday, my wish came true. By Sunday afternoon we had 3 inches of snow on the ground. Yesterday we got a tiny bit of snow, but tonight and tomorrow we could get a foot of snow! Needless to say I am excited.

Yesterday, Samara, Jere, and I went on a walk in the snow to Starbucks. Here is our adventure in pictures :)

2011

What an amazing year it has been. As always, I like to recap things in pictures, so here ya go :) Here are the highlights! (In no particular order)

I have just recently got back into watercolor and am having a blast. Normally I wouldn't have time to watercolor, but thank God for Christmas break! This was the first painting I did. It feels like it has been so long since I have painted, but I still love it just as much as I did before.

Volleyball 2011

Well today marks the end of another volleyball year for me. We had our end of the year celebration, a brunch and the Sones house. It was a blast. I will so miss volleyball the rest of this year, but am excited for next year. At our celebration though, I was blown away by the award I recieved. Each year Coach Heidi gives out three awards, one for most valuable player, most inspirational player, and most improved player. I was awarded most improved player. I was schocked to say the least. What an honor it is to be given that award. I cannor go further though without thanking my most amazing coaches: Coach Heidi and Coach Tong. Also there is another person that I must thank, and that would be my brother Jeremiah. He has helped me countless of hours during the season. He was kind of like my personal coach. I have loved every bit of this season. All in all i have to say this morning was great. I got to have brunch with my team, recieve an award that I was so honored to get, and my dad suprised me on the way home by taking me to starbucks and getting a red cup! It was my first one too. I am saving for Christmas presents, italy, and other things, so I am cutting my expenses wherever necessary, which means less starbucks, which is why I haven't had a red cup, but my dad totally blessed me and I was so grateful. So here was my happy morning in pictures :)
